Why Your Resume Isn’t Working 😫?
The problem statement
One of the most commonly asked questions about resumes I’ve got so far is:
I’ve been actively looking for the past 5 months, but I’m having a hard time getting interviews. Is there anything wrong with my resume?
Of course, looking for a job is more than just your resume. But indeed, before the world changes, a good resume is still the key to the door today.
I recently binge reviewed 1,500+ resumes for my data scientist and machine learning engineer positions. During this period, I’ve noticed some common issues that may not be serving candidates as well as they could. Therefore, I’m putting together a summary of these findings to share with you all.
The 1 second first impression
First impressions matter. You get a few more seconds, or minutes with a good first impression.
It takes 1 second to form the first impression between you and your hiring manager through this one piece of paper.
